Software Development/ Market Interviews (Baker & Taylor) - PTC worked with representatives from Baker & Taylor and CollectionHQ. Working with the company, developed a questionnaire to interview State Census Coordinators about their impressions of their current software tools, alternate software solutions, and the A.I.R. survey. Conducted interviews via Zoom, wrote an executive summary of the results, and reported those results to the company.
Strategic Planning Action Steps (Lawrence Public Library) - Lawrence Public Library had created a strategic plan with a vision, mission, vision, and values. The staff had been charged with developing action steps and objectives. PTC led a conversation to help the staff identify key performance indicators, objectives, and other focus areas for the new strategic plan.
Independent Management Contractor (Missouri Evergreen Consortium) - Served as the part-time executive director on a contract basis for a statewide library resource-sharing consortium. Missouri Evergreen uses the open-source ILS software Evergreen to facilitate resource sharing among the 60+ members. In addition to typical director duties, PTC also prospects and cultivates new members.
Consulting on Building Delivery Contract Models (Rolling Hills Library) - PTC met with the library's building committee to explain the advantages and disadvantages of the design-bid-build, design-build, and construction manager-at-risk models, and helped determine the appropriate model. PTC continued advising the library during the initial planning phase of their building project.
On-Demand Library Building Consulting (Marshall Public Library) -- PTC engaged for one year to advise the library director and library board concerning a new library. The scope of the advising contract included working on behalf of the library with the contractors, designers, and architects. In addition, the scope included reviewing contracts, helping contractors develop estimates, researching and advising on a library election strategy, and assisting staff with an election campaign.
Capital Project Plan Consulting (Cass County Library) -- PTC was engaged to help the library board and senior staff plan, align, prepare, and prioritize before engaging a design team to create a capital replacement and maintenance plan and to prepare to conduct community needs assessments.
Executive Consulting and Coaching (Kansas City Public Library) -- PTC was engaged to help the new library executive director become acquainted with the library environment and to be a thinking partner as she became more comfortable in her new role (through December 2025)
Service Exploration (Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library) -- PTC was engaged to facilitate conversations and work with the Outreach Service Study Team, Board, and Leadership to explore future options.
Library Facility Assessment and Community Engagement as Part of a Design Team (Sapp Design Architects and Kansas City Kansas Public Library) -- PTC was engaged by Sapp Design Architects as a library expert to help with community engagement, community needs assessments, and facilities and workflow evaluation.
In Service Training for the Southwest Public Libraries of Missouri — I led a 2-hour workshop titled Public Engagement for Public Libraries, covering tips, general training, and group exercises as part of their in-service training day.
